007: The World Is Not Enough: A first-person shooter similar to GoldenEye. It is a really good game and it does some things better than GoldenEye such as the graphics. I had a lot of fun with this game but I still think GoldenEye is the better game.
Beetle Adventure Racing: A racing game where you race Volkswagen Beetles. The tracks are long, which can make things uninteresting but there are shortcuts that you can find. There are also boxes around the track that contain bonus points that you can collect. There is also a battle mode where you have to drive around collecting bugs. This is a good game and it is fun.
Bust-A-Move 2: A puzzle game where you shoot colored bubbles to form lines of three of the same color to clear the level without having the bubbles reach the bottom of the level. You can also play against the computer or another player. I enjoyed playing this game and it is very fun.
Bust-A-Move '99: A puzzle game with similar gameplay to Bust-A-Move 2 but with some new features and new game modes such as a four-player mode. Like Bust-A-Move 2, it is a very fun game to play and I enjoyed playing it.
California Speed: An arcade-style racing game where you race different cars across different locations in California. While not a bad game, this game just feels like another racing game. There is also a weird billboard in the desert and you can race a golf cart almost 200mph.
Diddy Kong Racing: A racing game similar to Mario Kart but there are also hovercrafts and planes as well as karts. There is also an adventure mode where you collect balloons after each race and there are bosses as well. There are also trophy races and a few battle levels. This is one of my favorite games for the system and is a very fun game to play both by myself and with others.
Golden Nugget 64: A gambling game where you get to simulate the fun of gambling without actually gambling. There are different games to choose from such as card games, slot machines, craps, and roulette. While it is a good gambling simulator, I did not enjoy it very much.
Hydro Thunder: A speedboat racing game where you race different boats on different tracks. There are also boosts you can collect which can be used to increase your speed. The game is also visually impressive and the boats look cool. The gameplay is a lot like other racing games. It is an alright game but it is not one I would play repeatedly.
Lego Racers: A kart racing game similar to Mario Kart where you race Lego figures in karts made out of LEGO. You can customize your character and kart, which is a cool feature of this game. It is a decent game but I did not enjoy it as much as other kart racers.
Mario Kart 64: A kart racing game where you play as one of eight Mario characters on a variety of tracks. There are also items you can collect which can be used to slow down other karts or speed up your kart. Several of the tracks are long and boring. There is also a battle mode which is better than the main racing mode. I am not a fan of this game and it is one of the weaker games in the Mario Kart series. There are a lot of other racing games on the Nintendo 64 that are much better.
Mario Party: In this game you and three other players go around a board with the goal to collect the most stars, which can be purchased when the player gets to the star on the board. You also collect coins throughout the game. After each turn are the mini-games which are designed to make you wreck your controllers and hate your friends. Some of the mini-games are fun but there are others where it seems like the only reason they are exist are so that those who are playing can suffer. This game is fun but it is best if you play it if you have four people.
Mario Party 2: This plays a lot like the first Mario Party but with new boards, new minigames, and a few new features such as the new items, battle spaces, and the Koopa Bank. The characters also wear costumes based on the theme of the board. I prefer this one over the first one.
Mario Party 3: Like the first two Mario Party games you go around a board collecting stars and coins and playing mini-games. A lot of the new mini-games are fun. New to this game are two new characters, Daisy and Waluigi. Also new to this game is a duel mode. It is a fun game like the first two but it is best with four people.
Mario Tennis: A tennis game starring various characters from the Mario games. Besides the exhibition and tournament modes there are other modes such as Ring Shot, where you hit the ball through rings, Bowser Stage, which has power-ups, and Piranha Challenge, where you have to hit balls that the piranha plants shoot at you. There are many different shots and you have to press different combinations of the A button and the B button to do them. It is a fun game and it is one of my favorite sports games on the Nintendo 64. It is also the first appearance of Waluigi.
Mickey's Speedway USA: A kart racing game where Mickey Mouse and his friends race around the USA to rescue Pluto after he has been kidnapped. The tracks are based on different places around the United States. The characters also talk to each other during races. There is also a battle mode where you have to throw items at other characters to pop balloons. This is a fun game but I did not enjoy it as much as Diddy Kong Racing.
Micro Machines 64 Turbo: You race toy cars from a top-down perspective. The tracks are not the most interesting to play on but there are a lot of fun details to make up for it such as the fake elements on the periodic table or the potato in the rock project. Your car can also catch on fire or explode. This is a fun game but the gameplay is not as interesting as some other games. It is better if you are playing with others.
Monopoly: A video game adaptation of the board game of the same name. Like the board game, you go around the board collecting properties but the game is in 3D. There are options to change the rules settings allowing different house rules. There are little animations that the pieces do that are cool. While this game is decent, I did not have a lot of fun playing it and I prefer playing the board game over this.
Namco Museum 64: A collection of six classic arcade games from Namco. Pac-Man, Ms. Pac-Man, Galaga, Galaxian, Pole Position, and Dig Dug. It is an okay collection and the games are fun but there are many other Namco Museum collections on other systems with more games that you might be better off getting instead of this one.
Paperboy: You are a paperboy delivering newspapers to houses in a variety of neighborhoods while also avoiding obstacles. You can also throw newspapers at people and animals for extra points and you can even find coins which can be used to unlock bonus levels. There are also boss levels. The cartoonish graphics are awful but are "so bad that they are good." Some of the newspaper headlines are also funny. This game is a fun game to play.
Penny Racers: A racing game like Mario Kart where you race cartoonish cars. Part of this game is customizing your car with different parts to improve your performance. If you do well in a race you can steal parts from other racers but if you do poorly in a race you can have your parts stolen from other racers. You can even create your own tracks. This is a fun racing game and I enjoyed it more than Mario Kart 64.
Pokemon Puzzle League: A game where you battle other Pokemon trainers but instead of being like other Pokemon games, it is a puzzle game that plays like Tetris Attack. You line up tiles forming combinations of at least three tiles. It is a very fun game but I prefer the original Tetris Attack over this.
Rally Challenge 2000: An arcade-style racing game where you race real-world cars on different tracks in different countries. There is an arcade mode which is only one lap through only three countries but there are checkpoints you need to pass, and a championship mode where you race three laps through all nine countries. It is a decent game to play but it is not a game I would play repeatedly.
Re-Volt: A racing game where you race remote-controlled cars. There are different game modes such as championship mode and a stunt arena where you collect stars. You can even make your own custom tracks. The game is okay but I did not enjoy it as much as other racing games.
Ridge Racer 64: A very fun arcade-style racing game by Namco. You race around a track overtaking other cars and there are also checkpoints along the track. There are also some cool references to other games by Namco. This is a great game and I enjoyed playing it.
Robotron 64: A shooter game where you play as a scientist shooting robots on a grid-like plane while also rescuing the people, which give you extra points. This is a very fun game to play and I enjoyed playing it.
South Park Rally: A racing game in the world of South Park but there are objectives you have to complete during each race. There are items you can collect including some weird ones such as one where Saddam Hussein blocks your view of the track. The gameplay is not great and it can be confusing. I would only suggest playing it if you are a South Park fan.
Space Invaders: A simple shooter game where you move a ship left and right shooting aliens. There are also powerups you can get after shooting aliens of the same color. It is a fun game and while I did not enjoy it as much as other shooters, it is still worth playing.
Star Fox 64: A 3D shooter where you control a ship shooting down enemies and defeating bosses alongside your teammates who can help you but you also have to help them at times. There are different paths you can take depending on how you do on each level. There are also some great lines that your teammates say to you. This is a great game.
Super Mario 64: Mario's first adventure in 3D. An open-world platformer where you explore 15 different levels, collecting the different stars on each level. There are 120 stars to collect. It is a very fun game and it is very replayable. My biggest problem with the game is the camera and how you need to keep readjusting it. It is a great game and is one of my favorite games for the Nintendo 64.
Super Smash Bros.: A fighting game where you play as characters from various Nintendo games on stages themed around various Nintendo games. There are items which can be used againts other fighters. It is a fun game to play with others but it is not as enjoyable when playing by yourself and it is very limited compared to the later Smash games.
Tetrisphere: A puzzle game where you move around and place various shapes on a sphere with the goal to remove the pieces until you reach the inside of the puzzle. There are a few different modes in this game with the main mode being rescue mode. Other modes include puzzle, hide and seek, time trial, and there are multiplayer modes as well. This games was supposed to be released on the Atari Jaguar and was originally going to be titled "Phear." This is a very fun puzzle game and is one of my favorite games for the Nintendo 64. The visuals and sound are also cool. If you have not already played this game, you really should play this one.
Virtual Chess 64: A chess game in 3D. It is not as enjoyable as the board game. The best part about this game are the funny cutscenes that play whenever a piece is captured. You can also play the game in 2D and I prefer playing it in 2D but you do not get the fun cutscenes that make the game worth playing.
War Gods: A fighting game that is a ripoff of Mortal Kombat and it has some very dull gameplay. The characters and stages are not interesting either. It is not an awful game but it just is not interesting or fun.
