Alfred Chicken: A platformer where you play as a chicken with the goal of finding all the balloons on a level, which you peck to release the balloons. There are also diamonds you can collect for extra points and other objects that you can collect for bonuses. It is a weird game but it is decent and I enjoyed it.

Baby Boomer: An unlicensed light gun game similar to Gumshoe where you have to reunite a baby with his mother. The baby crawls along the level and you have to shoot enemies and other objects to keep the baby safe, which come out of everywhere. You also have to shoot milk bottles so that the baby does not run out of milk. The game is very weird and there is even a level based on Hell. This game is terrible. I did not enjoy playing it.

Battletoads: A tough beat em up where you play as a toad who beats up various enemies with the occasional level which is done in the style of a racing game where you go for a ride, avoiding obstacles. The game starts off relatively easy but when you get to the bikes on the third level, good luck. Even though it is a difficult game, it is still a very good game and one of the best NES beat em ups. I would also suggest pausing the game at least once to hear the awesome music that plays.

Color a Dinosaur: A game in which the title says it all! A coloring book video game where you color different kinds of dinosaurs. You have a limited amount of colors and patterns you can pick from and you can change the palette but your dinosaur is going to be very limited when it comes to how colorful it is. You also have to switch between each body part that you want to color so if you want to color the foot but you just colored one of the spots you have to cycle between each body part. You do not color the dinosaur freely, it just fills in the spaces. No coloring outside the lines. This game is very boring. This is the worst Nintendo game I have ever played. You are better off just getting some dinosaur coloring books and coloring with those.

Crash 'N' The Boys: Street Challenge: A series of sports events similar to the Olympics done by kids in an urban area. The events are hurdles, hammer throw, swimming, pole vaulting, and fighting. While some of the events are fun, in the swimming competition you try to kill each other, this game is not very fun to play more than once if you are by yourself. I would only suggest playing this if you have more than one person.

Donkey Kong: A port of the arcade game of the same name. You are a construction worker who ascends a construction site to rescue your girlfriend from a gorilla named Donkey Kong while avoiding enemies and objects thrown by Donkey Kong. There are also hammers which you can use to defeat obstacles and enemies and other items on the stage which you can use to get extra points. This is a fun game but it is too short of a game.

Donkey Kong 3: In this game you are a gardener and you have to keep spraying at a gorilla until he reaches the top while also protecting your flowers from bugs. This is nothing like the other Donkey Kong games. While not a bad game, I did not enjoy this game as much as Donkey Kong or Donkey Kong Jr.

Donkey Kong Classics: This is a two-in-one cartridge of Donkey Kong and Donkey Kong Jr. There are no differences in gameplay from the stand-alone releases.

Donkey Kong Jr.: In this game you play as Donkey Kong's son and you have to rescue Donkey Kong after he has been captured by Mario. You have to climb vines to get to the top of the screen, avoiding enemies, to get to him. It is a fun game and I like Donkey Kong Jr. more than I like the first game.

Donkey Kong Jr. Math: An educational game. In this game you play as Donkey Kong Jr. and you have to add, subtract, multiply, and divide single-digit numbers until they equal the number given by Donkey Kong. There is also an exercise mode where you can practice math problems. This is a pretty good math video game and it makes learning fun.

Dr. Mario: A puzzle game where you drop pills to line up four of the same color to eliminate viruses. It is a pretty fun game but it is better if you have a second player.

Fantasy Zone: A colorful shooter game made by Sega and published by Tengen. You control a spaceship and you have to defeat the main enemies while also shooting at a bunch of smaller enemies that are firing at you. After each stage is a boss fight and the bosses are pretty easy if you are quick enough. At the end you have to beat each of the enemies in order before beating the final boss. The stages do not take long to beat. There is also gold which is dropped by enemies, which can be used to purchase upgrades and weapons. While it is a fun game, it is not one of my favorite shooters for the system. It was also released on the Master System and TurboGrafx-16 and those two versions are better than the one on Nintendo.

Fire 'N Ice: A puzzle game where you are a wizard who has to put out fires by using blocks of ice to extinguish them. Some of the puzzles can be tough but this is a great game and is very fun. It is one of my favorite NES games.

Fisher-Price Firehouse Rescue: There are a few levels you can pick from where you go through a maze navigating a fire truck through to get to a house. There are no fires. You mostly just use the ladder to get people down from second story windows. A very boring game. Later levels add difficulty by adding a time limit and the requirement that you collect a key before getting to the house. Why would you need the key if the windows are already open? This added difficulty does not do much to make the game harder at all and does not add anything to make it any less awful. It is one of the worst Nintendo games ever. It is the Nintendo Entertainment System's equivalent to Superman 64.

Fisher-Price I Can Remember: You flip cards matching pictures and when you match all the pairs it shows a picture underneath where the cards were. That is all there is to this game. Not fun at all.

Fisher Price Perfect Fit: You take the object, which consists of different Fisher-Price toys, and put it into the spot that has the same shape as it. It takes a few minutes to beat the game as it has very few levels and it is very easy. Not fun at all. Instead I would suggest getting the toy where you put the blocks into the hole that has the same shape as the block. Whatever it is called.

Freedom Force: A light gun game where you have to fire at terrorists while also sparing hostages. There is also a code breaker mini-game where you have to choose letters and if you get the word right you get extra points. It is an okay game.

Gradius: A horizontal shooter where you shoot at lots of enemies that come out of everywhere towards your ship. There are also weapon powerups for your ship. It is a tough game but I was able to get through it. It is a good game and I enjoyed it, but good luck beating it.

The Great Waldo Search: In this game you go through different levels looking for Waldo and different scrolls along with other objects to get more points such as rectangles that have a point value in them and clocks that increase your time. You can also find Waldo's dog to play a mini-game where he flies on a magic carpet to collect bonus points. It is a short and easy game. It isn't a great game but it is alright to play.

Gumshoe: A light gun game where you shoot at a walking detective to make him jump while having to collect diamonds, which is a weird concept. You have to make sure the detective avoids enemies and avoids falling into pits. There are also balloons you can collect to get additional bullets, which you will never run out of because you don't use bullets when you hit the detective, only when you miss or when you hit an object. It is also very easy to die in this game. This is an alright game but I did not enjoy playing it.

Hatris: Tetris but with hats. A puzzle game where you have to stack falling hats and line up five of the same kind of hat without having the stack hit the top of the level. It is a weird concept for a game. It is a decent game but I did not enjoy it as much as some other puzzle games.

Jackie Chan's Action Kung Fu: A platformer where you play as Jackie Chan, defeating enemies. There are also power-ups that you can collect that allow you to do special attacks. It is not very difficult and it is a fun game that is worth playing.

Ms. Pac-Man (Namco): This is the licensed version of Ms. Pac-Man and it was released a few years after the unlicensed version. It is a port of the arcade classic of the same name. You navigate a maze as Ms. Pac-Man eating dots while avoiding ghosts. This is an inferior version of the Tengen release. It lacks the extra options and it does not play as well. You are better off getting the Tengen version. The licensed version is also rarer than the Tengen version so only get this game if you are a collector and are going for a complete set.

Ms. Pac-Man (Tengen): This is the unlicensed version of Ms. Pac-Man and it is a much better version of the game. It has extra features that make the game more enjoyable and even when you are playing it without the extra options it still plays a lot better than the licensed version. This is a very fun game and if you want to play Ms. Pac-Man on the NES, pick up the Tengen version.

Pac-Man (Namco): There were two different releases of Pac-Man on the NES, one was by Namco and the other was by Tengen. This is a port of the arcade classic of the same name. You navigate a maze as Pac-Man eating dots and avoiding ghosts. This is a fun game and a nice port of the arcade game.

Pac-Man (Tengen): This is the Tengen version of Pac-Man. Unlike most Tengen games it was released in both a licensed gray cartridge and an unlicensed black cartridge. Unlike Ms. Pac-Man where the Namco and Tengen versions were very different from each other, the Namco and Tengen versions are identical so it does not matter which version you play.

Pac-Mania: This is an unlicensed game released by Tengen. It plays like Pac-Man but it has isometric graphics and you are able to jump over the ghosts. I did not enjoy this game as much as the other Pac-Man games.

Silver Surfer: A shooter game where you play as the Silver Surfer from Marvel Comics. The story is you have to collect pieces of the cosmic device which you collect at the end of each level but the game does not elaborate on it that much. Think of it as a MacGuffin. You choose the order of what levels you play like in Mega Man. Then you enter a world where everything will kill you. One hit by anything and you are dead, which is made harder because you are controlling the board through narrow areas with lots of enemies. It is even harder in the vertical levels. After you beat all the levels you then have to go through the Magik Domain and defeat the final boss. The bosses are some of the easiest parts of the game which is not saying much. The ending is not a great one as the Silver Surfer just takes the device and just hides it somewhere. After suffering through the whole game your reward is a code in the credits for the second quest. This is one of the harder games for the system. Unless if you are really good at this game you will die a lot. When you die you are rewarded with a picture of the Silver Surfer crying on his board. The biggest problem with this game is the difficulty but even though it is a hard game, it is one of my favorite games for the system. It also has some excellent music. Yes, I have beaten this game and have beaten it with zero deaths.

Tetris (Licensed): A fun puzzle game where you drop differently-shaped blocks forming lines. You get more points if you complete more lines at one time. This game is fun but there is a better version of it on the NES.

Tetris (Tengen): This is the better version of Tetris. The gameplay is better and it has better graphics and music than the licensed version. It also has a two-player mode which the licensed version lacks. This game was not on store shelves for very long following a lawsuit making this game rare. If you do find a copy for a price you are comfortable with, get it because it will be worth it.

Tetris 2: Rather than playing like the other Tetris games, this plays more like Dr. Mario where you have falling blocks and you have to match up three of the same color of block. I did not enjoy this as much as the other Tetris games.
